FutureBARBADOS is an initiative of the office of the Barbados’ Prime Minister, the Hon. Mia Amor Mottley S.C. M.P. and an awesome team has been entrusted to make it happen.
Project CATAPULT is an innovation incubator dedicated to driving transformative ideas and projects. Round 2 of CATAPULT is centered around four challenge areas: the Future of the Ocean, the Future of Wellness, the Future of Digital, and an Open Challenge for innovations integral to Shaping the Future. We provide comprehensive support, resources, and mentorship to passionate individuals and teams who are committed to making a positive impact.
We’re looking for the most-promising and high-impact innovators who have what it takes to ideate, build and scale.
At a minimum, applicants for Project CATAPULT should:
- Have an individual or team dedicated to solving a compelling problem using innovative technology.
- Have at least one full-time founder/team member who can be dedicated to the program.
- Be driven, coachable, and collaborative.
- Have an in-house technical lead or expert in the area of their innovation.
- A functional MVP or pursuing a build-out track for a functional MVP.
To participate in Project CATAPULT, simply view the challenge areas and access the application form for the specific area that aligns with your idea or project. Submit a detailed proposal outlining your vision, goals, and intended impact. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for further discussions, and successful applicants will receive the necessary support to develop and implement their initiatives.
No. We are committed to bringing together the world’s best talent, meaning talent sourced locally, regionally and internationally. We have already assembled a pool of more than 500 talented individuals within Barbados and the diaspora for the Talent Hub and will continue to attract talent as the programme develops.

Yes, applicants can apply to multiple challenge areas however, please ensure that your proposals are tailored to address the unique requirements and objectives of each challenge area.

It compels us to think big, challenging the status quo and imagining possibilities beyond conventional limits. Moonshot thinking thrives on disruptive ideas that transcend incremental improvements, encouraging you to dream without constraints and embrace radical innovation.
Moonshots require resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to take calculated risks, knowing that the rewards of success far outweigh the temporary setbacks encountered along the way.
Project CATAPULT, actively seeks and embraces moonshot thinking because it recognises the immense value it brings to the innovation process. Moonshot thinking encourages individuals to go beyond what is immediately achievable and develop ambitious visions that can revolutionize industries, solve global challenges, and transform lives.
Participants selected for Project CATAPULT will receive a range of support and resources. This includes financial assistance to further develop and implement their ideas, access to mentorship from industry experts, networking opportunities with professionals and potential collaborators, and, subject to availability, access to dedicated incubation facilities and support services.
The duration of the program is 100 days. Throughout this period, participants will receive ongoing support and guidance to bring their ideas to fruition.
All participants are invited to an investment round and successful projects will advance to the next stage of development; Project FLIGHT. Unsuccessful projects are encouraged to advance independently or with potential partners or investors as teams would have gained valuable knowledge, networks, and resources to help sustain and grow their initiatives.
